Hey pals! We made our way back to Hoian last week and waited out the week of Tet, when many many MANY businesses are closed for 10 days while folks spend time with their families. Here’s what we found:
In a moment of madness, we attempted Mexican in Hoian. It was fine. Needed more lime, more salt. The corn was good!

Chili Honey Chicken at a fab Indian place in Danang

Paneer curry & roti. So much ghee. SO MUCH DELICIOUS GHEE.

Jerky salad. Spicy & loaded with herbs.

Scott is dying to buy a 5KG bottle of hot sauce. Thankfully, even he can see the insanity of this.

A very good ca phe muoi we found near our hotel here in Danang. Cute French messages were a nice touch!

We loved the first one so much, we did a 2nd food tour in Danang with the same guy! He introduced us to this amazing corn dish, lots of ghee and fried garlic and floss and salt. Yummers!

A local delicacy, fish and crab meatball soup. Homemade noodles. Great broth. Add lots of lime and fish sauce & take your chances with the dry red chili flakes mixed with pork crackling….

Bit harder to make Che Lien look good but it’s a kind of syrupy dessert, this one has pannacotta, lychee and chunks of fruit with almonds. Nice way to finish the night.

We are off to Ho Chi Minh tomorrow! Take care all!
